8th April
Today morning, we went to isolated shacks near the Nice Road. This place seems a bit more neglected and isolated. Some food distribution is going on there but cannot reach everyone. People seemed more desperate than elsewhere. Later we came back to Hulimavu and distributed more. Total 14 bags rice and 4 bags of dal were distributed.
The other team went separately and distributed 6 bags rice and 2 bags of dal.
If the lockdown continues, we will need more volunteers and funds. We will know in a few days. Thanks once again to everyone for all the support.
9th April
On April 9th we distributed 20 bags of rice and 6 bags of dal. We again split into two separate teams.
As usual we had gone around to isolated shacks where people don’t have food. Nearly all are migrants – whether from outlying district of Karnataka or other states.
Situation continues to be bad.
Thanks a lot for your support. The donations are coming in steadily.
10th April
Today again we went in two different places and distributed.
Today there was a small positive development. In our area another Head Constable, Tulasi also joined. Tomorrow we will go with her and Bramesha, the other police officer for distribution. We also located another lady constable and went around to the locations she showed. These police persons know all the various hidden shacks which we cannot otherwise ever hope to locate. For instance, today we found a cluster of 90+ people, mostly migrants from Bihar who had not got any rations.
We are now going to collect another load from our wholesaler, Royal Traders in Hulimavu, where he is giving at the same (low) price as the mandis that we had been going to daily.
Thanks again to everyone for their support.
