On Easter Sunday, one team went to the shacks near HSR that were located with the help of the Police. The other team went right opposite IIM ,rather between Apollo and Fortis hospitals. Then they went behind these hospitals to a small neglected group. From there to Arekere and Hulimavu, scattered small huts. Then to places on the outskirts of Bannerghatta forest on the right of the main road.
One heartening bit of news was that we found that a local business man- Srinivas Reddy,Chairman of ATB was distributing rations. He was himself giving away enough food for at least a week. Also, some cooked biryani and even pakodas. We have spent about Rs.3.86 lakhs so far. Rough calculation is Rs.15 per person per day. That is 25,000+ person days of food. Our estimate is that each person got 5 days food, so about 5000+ people. Some of this was spent before we started collecting donation through CCD.
